About

These pages provide information and resources for projects directed by individuals from the Department of Atmospheric and Climate Research (ATMOS) at the Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU).

Primarily we are focused on research related to atmospheric transport. The principal product for our analyses is FLEX* - which refers to both FlexTra and FLEXPART - Lagrangian transport models orginally developed by Andreas Stohl.

The current development team for FLEXPART and FLEXPART tools at NILU provides code updates, improvements, and numerous products for research. However, as FLEXPART is open-source code, development is conducted by numerous individuals distributed over the world. These pages provide more information about the code and development activities.

This site only provides a sub-set of the activities at ATMOS. For more information about the overall objectives of our division, please refer to the NILU pages.

Purpose

These pages are primarily developed for assisting FLEX* users and the sharing of resources. Additional, you will find campaign and project specific resources under the Project pages.
